DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
I welcome you to the National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital (NICRH), the country's only tertiary-level government hospital dedicated to cancer care. As we honour the memory of the July Martyrs, whose sacrifice paved the way for the democratic freedoms and national rebuilding we are witnessing today, we are deeply inspired by the current BNP-led government’s steadfast commitment to ensuring equitable and accessible healthcare for all citizens. In line with this progressive national health agenda, we are reminded of the importance of unwavering commitment, compassion, and community in the fight against cancer.
Guided by the government's vision to strengthen and modernize public health infrastructure, NICRH strives to provide comprehensive care across prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. We take great pride in the progress we have made in integrating state-of-the-art technology with compassionate care. Supported by state initiatives, the incorporation of advanced equipment—such as the Linear Accelerator in our Radiation Oncology Department—has allowed us to make a pivotal shift toward more curative and accessible treatment approaches for the general public.
To evolve into a true comprehensive cancer center that reflects the administration's goal of a healthier Bangladesh, we have equally prioritized improvements across all disciplines of care. Backed by a dedicated team of highly qualified and visionary faculty members, NICRH remains at the forefront of delivering specialized, patient-centric public healthcare in the country.
Our mission is to coordinate and integrate all our cancer-fighting efforts into a seamless, comprehensive program that serves the people of our nation. I am continually inspired by the dedication and teamwork of all those involved in this critical work. With the ongoing patronage of the current government, alongside the cooperation of our friends and partners, we will continue to advance in our mission. I am deeply grateful to all who contribute to this collective effort.
