The department of Cancer Epidemiology is one of the earliest departments of this Institute. The department is concerned with generation and maintenance of the data regarding cancer patients. The department took the main initiative to introduce the Hospital Based Cancer Registry (HBCR) for the first time. Eventually, two annual (one print & one online) reports and two three years cancer registry reports were published from NICRH. The department of Cancer Epidemiology is functioning as a focal point for the activities of extending Hospital Cancer Registry to all old govt. Medical Colleges and specialized cancer centers of the country. Beside these the department actively takes part in research, teaching, training, cancer prevention and awareness campaign.
